This example lets you experiment with translating equilateral triangles and observing the resulting symmetry. It illustrates the concept of translation as a vector movement, the properties of equilateral triangles, and how symmetry is preserved under translation. The construction uses sliders a and b to control the translation vector, points A and B, segments c and d, text objects text1‑text5, and images pic1 and pic2, combined with GeoGebra’s Translate command to animate the shape. It is suitable for middle‑school and high‑school students learning geometric transformations, as well as for interactive lessons and exploratory activities.

GeoGebra Commands & Parameters

  1. Numeric a(-16.0)
  2. Numeric b(-8.0)
  3. (a, b)
  4. Numeric c(20.0)
  5. Numeric d(7.0)
  6. (a + c, b + d)
