This example demonstrates the representation of hexadecimal numbers. Hexadecimal is a base-6 numeral system commonly used in computer science. By constructing sequences and applying transformations, the generation process of hexadecimal numbers can be visually understood. It utilizes commands such as Sequence, Dilate, Flatten, and Translate, suitable for middle school and above students to learn about hexadecimal numbers.

GeoGebra Commands & Parameters

  1. Sequence(π / 2 + (k * π / 3), k, 0, 6, 1) → l1
  2. Sequence(Rotate[Translate[O, Vector[O, (1, 0)]], l1(i)], i, 1, Length[l1], 1) → l2
  3. Dilate(l2, A1) → B1
  4. Flatten(Sequence[Sequence[((j * B1(i)) + ((A1 - j) * B1(i + 1))) / A1, j, 1, A1, 1], i, 1, Length[B1], 1]) → C1
  5. Dilate(l2, A2) → B2
  6. Flatten(Sequence[Sequence[((j * B2(i)) + ((A2 - j) * B2(i + 1))) / A2, j, 1, A2, 1], i, 1, Length[B2], 1]) → C2
  7. Dilate(l2, A3) → B3
  8. Flatten(Sequence[Sequence[((j * B3(i)) + ((A3 - j) * B3(i + 1))) / A3, j, 1, A3, 1], i, 1, Length[B3], 1]) → C3
  9. Translate(Flatten[{O, l2, B1, C1}], Vector[(6, 0)]) → l4
  10. Translate(Flatten[{O, l2}], Vector[(2, 0)]) → l3
  11. Translate(Flatten[{O, l2, B1, C1, B2, C2}], Vector[(12, 0)]) → l5
  12. Translate(Flatten[{O, l2, B1, C1, B2, C2, B3, C3}], Vector[(20, 0)]) → l6
