This example demonstrates the definition of a square. A square is a special type of quadrilateral with all sides of equal length and all angles being right angles. Using GeoGebra commands such as Segment (line segment), OrthogonalLine (perpendicular line), Circle (circle), and Intersect (intersection), a square can be constructed. This example is suitable for middle school and above students learning geometric construction.

GeoGebra Commands & Parameters

  1. Segment(A, B) → f
  2. OrthogonalLine(A, f) → g
  3. OrthogonalLine(B, f) → h
  4. Circle(B, Segment[A, B]) → c
  5. Circle(A, Segment[B, A]) → d
  6. Intersect(d, g, 1) → C
  7. Segment(A, C) → i
  8. Intersect(c, h, 1) → D
  9. Segment(C, D) → j
  10. Segment(D, B) → k
  11. Angle(C, A, B) → α
  12. Angle(A, B, D) → β
  13. Angle(B, D, C) → γ
  14. Angle(D, C, A) → δ
