Relationship of Unit Circle to Trig Functions
Loading the math board and drawing, please wait…
This example demonstrates the relationship between the unit circle and trigonometric functions (sine, cosine) by visually showing the correspondence between angles and function values in the coordinate system. Core mathematical concepts include the unit circle, trigonometric function definitions, right triangles, and angle measurement. It is constructed using GeoGebra commands and objects such as Intersect, Circle, Point, and Angle to build the unit circle, angles, trigonometric function segments, and their corresponding function graphs. Suitable for high school mathematics students to learn and understand the geometric meaning of trigonometric functions, and can also be used in introductory calculus teaching to assist in understanding the continuity and periodicity of trigonometric functions.
