This example demonstrates the orthocenter of a Bentley triangle. The orthocenter is the point where the three altitudes of a triangle intersect. Using GeoGebra commands such as Polygon, Line, OrthogonalLine, Intersect, and Angle, a triangle can be constructed and its orthocenter found. This example is suitable for middle and high school students to understand the geometric properties of triangles and the concept of the orthocenter.

GeoGebra Commands & Parameters

  1. Polygon(B, D, A) → poly1, a, side_2, d
  2. Line(A, D) → sides
  3. Line(B, A) → side_1
  4. Line(B, D) → side
  5. OrthogonalLine(A, a) → altitude_1
  6. OrthogonalLine(B, side_2) → altitude_2
  7. OrthogonalLine(D, d) → altitude
  8. Intersect(altitude_1, altitude_2) → orthocenter
  9. Angle(B, A, D) → α
  10. Angle(A, D, B) → β
  11. Angle(D, B, A) → γ
