This example demonstrates the calculation of surface area for various geometric solids. By constructing pyramids, cylinders, cones, prisms, and spheres, students can visually understand the concept of surface area. Core mathematical concepts include the formulas for calculating the surface area of geometric solids. Using GeoGebra commands such as Pyramid, Cylinder, Cone, Prism, and Sphere, students can dynamically adjust the dimensions of the solids and observe changes in surface area. Suitable for middle school and above students to learn methods of calculating surface area.

GeoGebra Commands & Parameters

  1. Pyramid(A, B, C, D, E) → a, faceABCD, edgeAE, edgeBE, edgeCE, edgeDE, faceABE, faceBCE, faceCDE, faceADE, edgeAB, edgeBC, edgeCD, edgeAD
  2. Cylinder(F, H, 6) → b, c, d, e
  3. Cone(I, J, 5) → f, g, h
