This example demonstrates the position of point P in spherical coordinates. Spherical coordinates are a three-dimensional coordinate system that describes points in space using distance ρ, angle φ, and θ. Construction highlights include the use of Segment and Angle commands to define distance and angles. Suitable for high school and above students to learn about coordinate representation in three-dimensional space.

GeoGebra Commands & Parameters

  1. Segment((0, 0, 0), P) → L
  2. Segment((0, 0, 0), (0, 0, 1)) → Z
  3. Angle(Z, L) → α
  4. Segment((0, 0, 0), (1, 0, 0)) → X
  5. Segment(P, P') → Lperp
  6. Segment((0, 0, 0), P') → Lpara
  7. Angle(X, Lpara) → β
