Will It Hit the Hoop? Parabolic Shot Simulation
Loading the math board and drawing, please wait…
This example simulates a basketball shot, showing the parabolic trajectory and whether the ball passes through the hoop. It covers quadratic functions, vertex form of a parabola, correlation analysis, and introductory calculus concepts. The construction uses the Intersect and Point commands together with objects A, B, a, h, k, c, C, d, D, text1, pic1, and e to dynamically create the curve and intersection points. Suitable for high‑school algebra or pre‑calculus classes, and for mathematical modeling of projectile motion in physics.
