This example demonstrates the properties of the diagonals of a kite, a special type of quadrilateral where pairs of adjacent sides are equal. By constructing a kite and observing its diagonals, it is evident that the diagonals are perpendicular to each other and one diagonal bisects the other. The construction uses commands such as Line, OrthogonalLine, Point, Mirror, and Segment in GeoGebra. Suitable for students at the middle school level and above to learn about the properties of quadrilaterals.

GeoGebra Commands & Parameters

  1. Line(A, B) → a
  2. OrthogonalLine(C, a) → b
  3. Point(b) → D
  4. Point(b) → E
  5. Point(a) → F
  6. Mirror(F, b) → F'
  7. Segment(F, D) → c
  8. Segment(D, F') → d
  9. Segment(F', E) → e
  10. Segment(E, F) → f
  11. Segment(F, F') → g
  12. Segment(D, E) → h
