Cross-Section of a Regular Cube by a Plane
This applet demonstrates the formation and variation of cross-sections when a plane intersects a regular cube. Using GeoGebra, a 3D cube model is constructed, and the OrthogonalPlane and IntersectPath commands are utilized to dynamically display the cross-sectional polygon formed by the intersection of the plane and the cube's faces. Users can observe the geometric characteristics and changing patterns of cross-section shapes, including triangles, quadrilaterals, pentagons, and hexagons, as the position and angle of the cutting plane vary. This interactive visualization serves as an intuitive tool for studying spatial relationships among points, lines, and planes in solid geometry, helping students develop a deeper understanding of three-dimensional geometric reasoning through hands-on exploration.
